Triggers are emotional reactions to an actual or perceived stimuli. They are powerful and can makes us act out in harmful ways. Triggers can affect our relationships and keep us from really being in the moment. I had been a practitioner of many spiritual practices, a vegan diet, stayed in temples in India, engaged in meditation and japa chanting. I also engaged in various types of plant medicines including ayahuasca. For me, it was easy to trace back my wounding to childhood trauma. I had been severely abused and humiliated by my fathers wife, also a victim of incest and sexual abuse. Although these practices gave me the awareness of the trauma that created my triggers, I was unable to change my patterns through self awareness alone. EMDR was my method of choice. EMDR helped me create NEW neuro pathways, freeing me from my conditioned response. Binaural beats works in a similar way using an application called neuroplasticity. Like EMDR, neuroplasticity creates new neuro networks and works to change conditioned behavior. The beautiful thing about binaural beats is their ease of use with sound healing.
